WebDAV
Anchor now supports Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning (WebDAV). An extension of the HTTP protocol, WebDAV is simply another way for the Anchor user to view and edit documents, both personal and through Team Share, located on the cloud.
Benefits of WebDAV include:
1 – No client installation of the Anchor agent
2 – No local storage of shared files
3 – Folders and files are accessible through the user’s native OS explorer (i.e. Mapped Drive in Windows explorer)
Specifics of the Anchor implementation of WebDAV include:
Support for Active Directory authentication through domain\username login credentials
Ability to enable WebDAV for all users of a given organization
Ability to enable WebDAV on a user-by-user basis
Anchor configures WebDAV to use port 443
Other features
- Added the following argument to be used during silent install: create_shortcuts. This argument takes values of 1 or 0 with 1 being the default. If a value of 1 is specified, a desktop shortcut for the SyncedTool will be installed. In addition, the SyncedFolder will be added to the user's Favorites folder during silent registration.
- Added the following queries and improvements to the Anchor API:
- Ability to enumerate all users within an organization with user ID
- User’s unique ID
- Deleting a user
- Deleting a company
- Normalization of API responses
Fixes/Enhancements:
File Server Enablement
- When disabling mapping for a particular machine, the system will no longer notify the user of any folders that will not be removed due to the machine being a file server.
- Previously, if a user disabled mapping on a particular machine, sync would become disabled on any backups linked to that machine. This has been fixed.
- Users would encounter load errors when attempting to browse to sub-folders that contained special characters. This issue has been fixed.

Special File Extensions
- Windows Desktop and MDI (multiple document interface) applications, such as Microsoft Office, create temporary files during appropriate write and edit actions. The creation of these temporary files would create multiple unnecessary revisions within the Anchor server as each file was treated as a new document. This excessive logging has been fixed so that temporary files are ignored and revisions are logged on a per document basis.
- Fixed issue where PDF generation through Microsoft Word into a synced folder resulted in the creation of a 0 byte revision.
- Support for AutoCAD files.

Shared Links
- Shared links will now display the sharer's name and email address in the email message instead of the system administrator's information.
- Fixed issue where sharing a link via email would also email any previous recipients of that same link.
- If a file does not yet exist on the Anchor server, due to exclusion policies or any other reason, the following options are no longer available when right-clicking on the file in an Explorer window: View Revisions, Share Link
Sync
- Resolved issue where a stalled sync would occur if a write operation was attempted on a destination that already existed. Now, a collision folder is created and sync continues as normal.
Policy/Configuration
- Policy setting “Erase deleted files every” has been changed to “Erase files deleted after”.
- Fixed issue where child organizations were not inheriting their parent’s organization mail server settings.
- Enhanced the Maintenance Mode feature found on the General tab on the System Settings page for All Organizations. When enabled, a "Maintenance Mode" tag will be displayed on the site header for all administrator logins; all other users will see a "Maintenance in Progress" page and will not have access to their site.
- Resolved issue where ASCII characters used in certain Autotask configurations would prevent Anchor from using Autotask as a PSA system.
Dashboard/Reports
- Reports generated on the Anchor server and downloaded as PDF files will now include the Report Name in the filename.
- Enhanced the dataset for the report “Space usage by organization”
- Data for deleted organizations is now hidden in the dashboard and any relevant reports.
User Interface
- Fixed issue where folders with names containing utf-8 characters were not being backed up correctly.
- Any leading or trailing spaces are now stripped after the user hits the Save button for the fields Program Name and Folder Name in the Branding settings section.
- Improved rendering of files and folders that contain Unicode characters.
- Fixed issue where multi-file select would not work for Internet Explorer 9. This was due to the fact that javascript was not correctly calling Flash.
- A mapping-enabled machine cannot also be selected as a subscriber for a Team Share. The Team Share subscription UI now displays the mapped machine as grayed-out.
Other
- Improvements to the Bandwidth Throttling feature.
- USB drives are now detected during registration and users are given a warning.
