There are three components that we recommend you backup in order to ensure rapid restoration and zero data loss:
- File store - Contains your raw binary data, configured at system set-up. You can find your file store location by going to All Organizations -> File Store. This can be a file-level backup.
- DB store - The DB stores hold file and folder meta-data. By default this is installed in c:\Anchor Server\store_#. Because these databases typically reside on the same drive as your server, we recommend that you take a a bare-metal snapshot of this drive for speedy restoration.
- PostgreSQL - The PostgreSQL database stores business object information such as accounts, usernames, and passwords. It is located inc:\PostgreSQL9.1\. This also resides on the same drive as the Anchor Server and should be included in the aforementioned bare-metal backup.
We recommend that you do file-level backup on the drive where your file store exists and bare-metal backup of your Anchor server. These can be scheduled at the same time for consistency.
