Open the Acronis console on the Continuity Cloud node and connect it to your cloud AMS. 3. On the left hand side, select your vault and find the recovery point you want to recovery as a VM. 4. Right click the recovery point and select Recovery to VM. 5. Under the What to Recover section it will likely say “Cannot obtain the location information because there is no access to the location.” Click on the Access Credentials link and enter the credentials to your cloud AMS 6. Once the disk map loads, select Browse under Where to recover 7. Select the ContinuityCloud node under Hosts and clusters. It should be the only one. If nothing exists under Hosts and Clusters, please contact Axcient support. 8. Click on Storage and select x:/vms and the restore location 9. If you feel a need to modify VM creation settings, click on Virtual machine settings and modify what you see fit. 10. If you are restoring a multi disk system, you will need to map the source disks to the appropriate virtual disks. a. For each disk there will be a Recover section. Click each Recover Disk section. b. Select which virtual disk the backed up disk should be restored to. Note: The error message here is because this is a single disk system. In a multi disk restore, you will need to choose which virtual disk to restore to. 11. Once all the disks have been mapped, click OK. 12. A new window will open up on the Progress tab. You can double click the Recovering Disks/Volume line to get more information on the restore task. NOTE: It does take about 10-15 minutes for the VM generation to occur prior to transferring data. It will be a little while before the progress details start to populate with estimated finishing time. 13. While the restore is running, run through the Firewall Configuration Guide to properly configure the firewall on the ContinuityCloud node. Virtual Firewall and Router ConfigurationWhile the restore is running, configure the firewall on the Continuity Cloud node. For help with this, please see the document Continuity Cloud Virtual Firewall Guide. Once the firewall policies are configured, you can resume with the next step. Cleaning Up• When you have finished with the Axcient Continuity Cloud, the best practice is to delete any of your data off of the X: (using windows explorer). Axcient will reinitialize the underlying RAID volumes when the node is reprovisioned, zeroing out all data on the volume. • For especially sensitive data, you may want to securely erase all of the free space on the drive in a way that adheres to DoD standards. To do this, clear the recycle bin and then open a command prompt and run the command “sdelete -c X:” – this will more securely erase any files you have deleted. Running sdelete may take 24-48 hours, so you should only run it if required by your security procedures. • To ensure that you are no longer billed for the Axcient Continuity Cloud service, you must update or submit a ticket indicating that you are finished with the node(s) that have been provisioned for you. Please note that once you have submitted a ticket indicating you are finished with the node, you will no longer have access to the machine and Axcient will wipe and reimage the machine from bare metal; please make sure you have any data that you need before submitting a ticket indicating that you are finished with the nodes. |
