Problem: The user receives the following VMware error message during deployment:
Virtualized intel VTx/EPT is not supported on this platform
Cause: VMware presents this warning message because the Axcient vApp needs VTx and EPT to be present and enabled in the Harward processors running the Virtual Host. The user may in fact be deploying the vApp on hardware that lacks either capability.
Solution: The user may choose to ignore this message and continue with the deployment. Upon powering up the vApp, the user should confirm whether VTx with EPT is present and enabled on the Hardware where the Virtual Host is located. To confirm, navigate to the Version Information section on the Axcient UMC Dashboard. If enabled, the user should see the following:
If the VT enabled field displays no, the user will need to enable VTx with EPT on the hardware host.If VTx with EPT is not enabled, replication jobs will not complete successfully and the user will be unable to utilize the Failover VM features. To enable VTx with EPT, please refer to the Replication jobs and Test VMs fail due to VT-x with EPT not enabled article for instructions on how to enable VTx with EPT.
